:: CONDUCT POLICY |
| |
| Don’t Over Send |
- Be courteous, kind, thoughtful and sparing with group e-mail.
- Sometimes it’s FUN when you e-mail your group when something
is SO funny or SO useful to send to all, but you have to be
careful to not overdo it. A good rule of thumb is to not send more
than 1 mass email per day to your friends. And since you only get
one per week from Givzy, make sure that’s the one for that day.
- All emails don’t have to please everyone, but be considerate
and thoughtful before sending any email.
|
| |
| Create a list and If a friend asks to be removed
from your mass emails – Do it! |
- It’s common courtesy to honor a friend’s request. Most people
set up distribution groups or lists where they add their friends
who like receiving funny or informative mass emails. You can
easily add or remove people from these lists and this is how we
recommend you forward your Givzy emails – simply create a Givzy
list (CLICK HERE to see how to create and manage lists).
|
| |
| BCC, don’t CC your friends |
- Use the BCC (Blind Carbon Copy) field for all mass emails that
you send out. BCC’ing shows courtesy when sending to a large
distribution list because recipients won't have to see a huge list
of names and their email addresses aren’t exposed to your friends
or your “cyber friends”.
- When you use the CC (Carbon Copy) field, everyone can see
everyone else's email address. This can annoy a lot of folks.
Email addresses are like phone numbers. Be considerate of the
privacy of each recipient.
- By using BCC, people also won’t be able to reply to all, which
can be nuisance to some if a chain conversation begins.
|
| |
| Clean Up Emails Before Forwarding Them |
- If you are at the end of such a sharing chain, you'll quickly
see why cleaning up emails before forwarding them is essential.
Messages that have been forwarded multiple times often contain
random quotation characters or lines in crazy places. The footers
of emails should also be removed to keep the scrolling to find the
content to a minimum.
- Make sure you're sharing the email, not the addresses in it by
removing all addresses from the forwarded message. Do your best to
avoid sending prior comments or email addresses by deleting them
before you send.
|
| |
| Do not delete, mislead, and / or change the
“Givzy-mail” subject field |
- Keep the Givzy-mail Subject field the way it was intended.
Givzy spends hours coming up with amazing Subject lines. Why
change them?
|
| |
| When composing, don't send controversial or
questionable content |
- Use your best judgment when sending content. You don’t want to
offend your recipients, and it just looks bad. Would your mother
approve? If not, think twice.
